Roofing Timeline from Target Roofing. This is what to expect from us as a step by step guide from signing the proposal to finishing the roof and paying.

WHAT TO EXPECT FAQ’s

When will we start?

How long will it take?

Do I need to be there?

Your representative will keep you updated on progress.

When it comes to deciding when we will start your job, we will consider our current schedule with other customers, current and upcoming weather conditions, material delivery, unforeseen events with our roofing team. The last thing we want to do is tear off your roof with a storm in the forecast.

It depends on the size of your roof. In most cases, the roofing process generally takes 1-2 days for shingle jobs and 2+ for metal jobs.

Your representative will let you know how much longer the team will need to complete work. Examples of reasons for extended work timeline would be:

You do not need to be there at reroof unless you want to.

MATERIALS

Which color did you decide on?

Your shingles and metal can be ordered once you decide on the color you’d like to go with. The shingles and metal will have corresponding pipe and trim colors.

Once we get the materials ordered we will message you with a timeline of when we can get the products together and delivered to your job site.

DUMPSTER

We have to tear off your old roof.

Do not park in the garage during roofing days. Communicate with your sales rep about the dumpster location plans. There will be a dumpster either dropped off or attached on one of our trailers brought to your job site. Sometimes the dumpster will be delivered before we start, sometimes we will bring it the day of. This depends on how much trash materials we will have during work. The dumpster will be placed as close as possible to the house or building site in order to minimize the distance from the construction to the dumpster.

If a dumpster is dropped off it will be removed upon the schedule of the dumpster company. We do our best to give them a pick up date, but sometimes there are unforeseen circumstances on their end that can lengthen timeline on a dumpster being at the site.

IT’S ROOFING DAY!

CLEAN UP

Multiple “Clean Ups”

Clean up is a key part of every roofing project, and our crew works hard to leave your property in good shape. Our roofing team will clean as we go and we will return to perform a thorough clean up once the job is complete.

Our team will:

Roofing is a construction process, and despite careful clean up, a few small items may occasionally be missed. We recommend wearing shoes around the property during and shortly after the project. If you find anything that needs extra attention, just let us know — we’re happy to come back and take care of it.

To help protect your property, we recommend moving vehicles, patio furniture, potted plants, grills, and other valuables away from the home before roofing begins.

Once clean up is complete, your representative will follow up to confirm the job is finished and make sure all questions or concerns are addressed.

PAYMENT

Proposal vs. Final Payment

Payment is typically due upon completion of the work, we will send a link via quickbooks and can also print out an invoice to bring to you when the job is complete. Occasionally we will take partial payment upfront- your representative will address this.

The initial proposal sent for roof work is usually the amount paid at the end unless there is unforseen work to be done which could not be estimated ahead of time.

If your project involves insurance, your representative will help guide you through the payment process and provide insturction on the order and amounts.

If you have questions about invoices, insurance paperwork, or timing of payments, please reach out to your representative — we’re happy to walk through it with you.
